Christmas

This year Josh and I decided to forgo individual presents for each other and go into a big one together! We had our work Christmas party and were lucky to still receive a $500 bonus each. I told Josh awhile ago that we should not get each other individual gifts and get a flat screen tv instead! We bought it today and it's awesome! It's an LG model 42" flat screen LCD TV. It's the perfect size for our TV stand! This is something we will enjoy having for a long, long time!

Christmas surprise

Josh and I were out of the house last night when we got a call from Amy. She asked Josh if he could get me out of the house for a bit while she came in and "assemled" our Christmas Present. Josh told her we were out, but long story short we left a key for Amy to get in the house...

This is what we found when we arrived back home...

I absolutely love it! I have a Christmas tree for my house! It's perfect!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving, we had 2 celebrations. Josh's mom and sister were in town from England, so last Friday we had Thanksgiving dinner over at Grandma Woolfenden's house.
Yesterday, we went to my parents for the Thanksgiving feast. Good food, great time spent with family, meeting my brother's girlfriend Lucie, and playing a rousing game of Apples to Apples.
I need to take more pictures when I know I'm going to do a blog post, oh well.
I just want to say that I am thankful for my wonderful husband! I am thankful for this home that we were able to purchase too! I am thankful for my family and Josh's family!

Disneyland

Well I had a great vacation down in Disneyland. My wonderful brother-in-law got us into the park for free since he is working there. He also got us a Marriot Hotel discount. We spent in total for 3 nights what other would be charged for 1 night. It was great to be able to see the in-laws again too.I have a lot of pictures, so I'm just going to post them on my Facebook page and you can look at them there.

house warming party

On Friday, we had our house warming party. I can say it was a pretty good success for my first one. The sign is from my Aunt Michelle. I love it! We put it above the picture of the story of us. We have one from when we were dating, then our engagement one, and one from the wedding. So this sign fits perfectly!
The plant is from my sister Angie and brother-in-law Andy. We bought ourselves the pot at home depot, but I'm happy to have a plant in my house.

2 weeks as homeowners...............

............should be happiness and joy all around right? Well, it has been until yesterday happened.
Josh and I always take our lunch hour from work at home. Everything was fine and dandy. Come 5 o'clock we get off work and head home. When we arrive, Josh plans to show me something quickly on the Internet. We go into his computer room and he tries to get on and the internet isn't working. Josh (however he came to this conclusion-that I don't know) goes outside to check the cables out. What does he find? Oh someone came into our yard in the 4 hour time span that we were back at work and cut the internet/cable tv cable! We could not believe it! :( What kind of person would do this to us? We have only lived here 2 weeks and haven't even met, let alone seen, much of our neighbors yet. Comcast was going to come Nov 6th and bury the cable into the ground and this had to happen before that.
We live in one side of a twin home. The cable power box is actually in the neighbors yard, so Comcast had to wire a cable to that box and wind it through their backyard into our backyard. We also have a box on our side of the house for the internet/tv splitter. So whoever did this (I am betting 100% on the neighbor that we share a wall with, after all the cable was in their yard) went to the box on the side of our house and snipped the wires. They took the cable out of the cable power box and threw it behind our backyard fence! UNBELIEVEABLE!
I talked Josh into going over to Smiths Marketplace on Redwood to talk to the neighborhood police. What these people did is considered criminal mischief, but unless someone saw who did this (no one did) the police can't do anything about it. They felt really bad for us, but they would had to have been a witness for them to do anything.
Needless to say we are very upset! Comcast has to come over tomorrow and string cables again. Hopefully Josh can see if there is a better way to go the internet cable to our house so that this doesn't happen again.

Well we moved............mostly. There are very few things at the apartment. We still have most everything in boxes at our house though. That's going to take a bit to get through. Mostly because the previous owners were in a bigger hurry to leave than we were to get in and they left the place kinda messy. I don't dare put anything away in the kitchen until I steam clean the drawers (I've heard I can rent one, but don't know where)
I am so glad to be out of our apartment though. Lots more room for us here and no more paying for laundry! I am so glad that they left the laundry machines for us.
