Christmas

This year Josh and I decided to forgo individual presents for each other and go into a big one together! We had our work Christmas party and were lucky to still receive a $500 bonus each. I told Josh awhile ago that we should not get each other individual gifts and get a flat screen tv instead! We bought it today and it's awesome! It's an LG model 42" flat screen LCD TV. It's the perfect size for our TV stand! This is something we will enjoy having for a long, long time!

Christmas surprise

Josh and I were out of the house last night when we got a call from Amy. She asked Josh if he could get me out of the house for a bit while she came in and "assemled" our Christmas Present. Josh told her we were out, but long story short we left a key for Amy to get in the house...

This is what we found when we arrived back home...

I absolutely love it! I have a Christmas tree for my house! It's perfect!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving, we had 2 celebrations. Josh's mom and sister were in town from England, so last Friday we had Thanksgiving dinner over at Grandma Woolfenden's house.
Yesterday, we went to my parents for the Thanksgiving feast. Good food, great time spent with family, meeting my brother's girlfriend Lucie, and playing a rousing game of Apples to Apples.
I need to take more pictures when I know I'm going to do a blog post, oh well.
I just want to say that I am thankful for my wonderful husband! I am thankful for this home that we were able to purchase too! I am thankful for my family and Josh's family!

Disneyland

Well I had a great vacation down in Disneyland. My wonderful brother-in-law got us into the park for free since he is working there. He also got us a Marriot Hotel discount. We spent in total for 3 nights what other would be charged for 1 night. It was great to be able to see the in-laws again too.I have a lot of pictures, so I'm just going to post them on my Facebook page and you can look at them there.

house warming party

On Friday, we had our house warming party. I can say it was a pretty good success for my first one. The sign is from my Aunt Michelle. I love it! We put it above the picture of the story of us. We have one from when we were dating, then our engagement one, and one from the wedding. So this sign fits perfectly!
The plant is from my sister Angie and brother-in-law Andy. We bought ourselves the pot at home depot, but I'm happy to have a plant in my house.

2 weeks as homeowners...............

............should be happiness and joy all around right? Well, it has been until yesterday happened.
Josh and I always take our lunch hour from work at home. Everything was fine and dandy. Come 5 o'clock we get off work and head home. When we arrive, Josh plans to show me something quickly on the Internet. We go into his computer room and he tries to get on and the internet isn't working. Josh (however he came to this conclusion-that I don't know) goes outside to check the cables out. What does he find? Oh someone came into our yard in the 4 hour time span that we were back at work and cut the internet/cable tv cable! We could not believe it! :( What kind of person would do this to us? We have only lived here 2 weeks and haven't even met, let alone seen, much of our neighbors yet. Comcast was going to come Nov 6th and bury the cable into the ground and this had to happen before that.
We live in one side of a twin home. The cable power box is actually in the neighbors yard, so Comcast had to wire a cable to that box and wind it through their backyard into our backyard. We also have a box on our side of the house for the internet/tv splitter. So whoever did this (I am betting 100% on the neighbor that we share a wall with, after all the cable was in their yard) went to the box on the side of our house and snipped the wires. They took the cable out of the cable power box and threw it behind our backyard fence! UNBELIEVEABLE!
I talked Josh into going over to Smiths Marketplace on Redwood to talk to the neighborhood police. What these people did is considered criminal mischief, but unless someone saw who did this (no one did) the police can't do anything about it. They felt really bad for us, but they would had to have been a witness for them to do anything.
Needless to say we are very upset! Comcast has to come over tomorrow and string cables again. Hopefully Josh can see if there is a better way to go the internet cable to our house so that this doesn't happen again.

Well we moved............mostly. There are very few things at the apartment. We still have most everything in boxes at our house though. That's going to take a bit to get through. Mostly because the previous owners were in a bigger hurry to leave than we were to get in and they left the place kinda messy. I don't dare put anything away in the kitchen until I steam clean the drawers (I've heard I can rent one, but don't know where)
I am so glad to be out of our apartment though. Lots more room for us here and no more paying for laundry! I am so glad that they left the laundry machines for us.

house update

Our agent had given the seller's agent things from the home inspection that needed fixed to see if the seller's would take care of it first. We just heard back from Lauren and the sellers have agreed to fix those things before they leave! WHEW! Sweet! Now we just have to wait for the loan papers to go through so that we may sign them and close!

update of house

So we had our home inspection today. It went well! Just one more thing down in the long list of things to do.........but it makes it closer to being done!

Monday, September 21, 2009

We are currently under contract for a place! Pending an inspection, our "closing" date is Tuesday, October 13th, 2009.
We are excited! If nothing goes terribly wrong, we will have a house!

Happy Birthday to me!! LOL

How many birthdays are too many? I definetly feel my age now...........27 is young? Not to me, I already have some of the things that my "older" family has. Bad ankles like my dad and bad knees like my grandma, aunt, and mom.
Oh well, that's life right?
Thank you to my honey for making me feel ESPECIALLY loved today!

Kiss of Death

I can't believe today.....so windy that my allergies are in full force. I feel like my head is gonna explode and kill me off.
I hate having allergies.....it should be a perfectly nice day to enjoy, but no! I can't breath, my nose goes from stuffed to runny and I used up all the tissues in the house. My eyes are red and puffy.I want to sleep but even that won't happen.
I am thankful for a husband who wants to help me in anyway that he can. (He had to run out to the store for me to get tissues, allergy medication, and something that I might be able to eat.
That's another "kiss of death" that I am feeling. Friday I had yet another (5th time) root canal and have a temporary crown in. It's still hurting and I can't eat anything. Well the dental assistant told me to eat soft stuff, but I can't even do that!
Oh, I know this is a "woe is me" kind of post..............but.....oh well.

2 wonderful years............

......and many more to come!
I just want to say a quick Happy Annivesary to my one true love, forever and always, Josh! It's been a great and exciting adventure so far and I look forward to going forward with building our lives together!

Park City party

We went up to Park City for a corporate Monavie party. We ate in one of the lodges up there and had the rides rented out for the day. (10 am - 10 pm) I was so excited to go up there because this was going to be my chance to ride the Alpine Slide! I was so determined! But alas, I was disappointed for the second time. :( (I had tried to ride it previously years ago and it was closed the day I went up)Stupid rain! We did stand in line for an hour to ride the Alpine Coaster. If there is any rain at all, they usually don't run that ride, but we really wanted to get on and try it. So we stood in line for an hour waiting for it to open up. We got rained on a few times (which as other people ran for cover, we kept moving up to almost the front of the line) and we also got hit with some hail. I didn't want to leave so I endured it (so glad that my friend Kristin had an extra sweater in her car or I would probably have gotten sick). Here are some pics of poor Josh all wet because he didn't grab his jacket and also one that I took while on the way to the top of the coaster:

look and see!

http://www.utahrealestate.com/895200

go to this website and check out the house that I think is a great deal. I would just have to convince my husband that this is a great house even though it's out in Eagle Mountain.
I really would love it! :(

Housing

I was going to write this awhile ago, but when I went to try our internet was down. (someone called Comcast-our apartment building has a contract for free cable with Comcast, but we do our own internet) Well, it's fixed now!
So last Tuesday, Josh and I went to a mortgage broker that his uncle and aunt recommended. His name was Adam. Very nice guy! He put some numbers together for us to see what we were pre-approved for. He also printed out a whole bunch of pages off a real estate website, he told us to go home and put out 8 or 10 of them and send them to him. Then he will go with us to look at them.
We are pretty excited! I just hope that we can both decide on something that we like and can live with for a few years!

WICKED

So on Sunday August 2nd, we flew down to San Diego to see Wicked!
What an amazing show! It was so awesome and I'm so glad that my husband took me! I didn't get a lot of pics because they don't allow them during the show. Never the less, haha, I highly enjoyed myself! Here's a few pics...

OUCH!

For those of you who don't know...........
Friday the 17th of July, I finally took my new rollerblades and decided to go blading down the Jordan River Parkway in Midvale. I was just passing some time before I had to go get Josh from work. SO I started out on my journey. There was a bridge that I hadn't seen before that I wanted to check out. Now I didn't think about the tiny hill leading up to the bridge, I was curious about the bridge and that was the only thing on my mind. So it wasn't very exciting, but as I turned around to go down the hill and continue blading on the path, I fell and fell down hard!!
I was glad that no one was around to see my big goof and even though it hurt, I still went blading for 15 minutes more. Now over a week and a half has gone by and my tailbone still hurts. I damaged it pretty good I would say! I can hardly sit and sleeping is extremely hard because I am used to sleeping on my back. I have to sleep on my sides or my stomach which gives me back pains.
I didn't go to a doctor because I didn't want to pay for an expensive x-ray and then have thenm not able to do much for me except give me drugs.
I hope I heal up soon and I can get back to my life.
I will still rollerblade when this gets better, I just won't go up any hills.

Lagoon Day

Such a diva this monkey was!

For my work's summer party, we went to Lagoon. They had this monkey show going on that I wanted to go see before we rode the rides. These are pictures from that (not only of monkeys)that I wanted to share. Oh, these are monkeys that have been on TV and movies.

4th of July

So this year for the 4th of July, we went over to Grandma Woolfenden's house (josh's grandma). We hadn't seen that side of the family since April when Josh's parents left to England. We ate and some people played a few water games. Josh played water volleyball while I sat and watched, but I enjoyed watching him get into it. Then there was a big black plastic "waterslide" (homemade) that was set up going down a hill that I wouldn't have ever slide down myself. It just looked like it would have hurt. I didn't take much pictures, but here are a few!

Nice Weather

Well, it's about time that it's been sunny all day!
Josh and I went for a walk on the Jordan River Parkway today. (I suggested it for today and he accepted) It was a lot of fun for us. I wished I had taken my camera! We saw this hummingbird come and SIT on the fence to the side of us twice while walking. I have never seen a hummingbird be so motionless, it was the coolest thing.
We also saw some big purple flowers on big stems and I had to ask Josh what they were. He told me they were thistle-what Eeyore likes to eat. Well, Eeyore would have been happy there, as happy as Eeyore can get!
I am going to have to convince Josh to go do that more often. Next time though, I am remembering to put on sun-screen. Thankfully we didn't get too burned.

Are you Reese?

So for anyone who doesn't know, I work at Monavie. Today was the launch of our Energy drink -Emv- and we also have regional tomorrow at the Salt Palace where Energy will be available for the tasting and buying.
I work in the back processing orders for the warehouse to ship out. We expected to day to be really busy with people picking up their Energy orders and the many, many out-of-towners that would stop by to see the warehouse. Anyway, one person that works the front lobby was off today, so I had to help out as needed up there. So, at one calm part of the day (which didn't happen much) I was up front. Suddenly, Marco turns to me and says, " See this lady coming up? She is Reese Witherspoon's body double in movies!" I didn't quite believe it until I saw her face straight on. Holy cow! She looked exactly like Reese does! Obviously, that's how she got this body double job. She even showed me a picture on her phone of her and Reese next to each other and I couldn't tell who was who. It was the coolest thing!
So Marco was just asking her question after question. She isn't always a double for Reese, mostly when it's convenient for her to be there with her having two boys at home. She did say that she did the coma scenes in Just Like Heaven (so she got to kiss Mark Ruffalo, LUCKY!) She also said that she thinks Vince Vaughn is a jerk. (She doubled on the set for Four Christmases) Also, she asked her boys what they thought of Reese. (They said she's really nice--have met Reese a couple of times when their mom had to take them with) Reese gave the boys a WII for Christmas when hardly anyone else could get them.
Anyway, I just had to chat about my experience--it was the sweetest thing ever! I wouldn't have believed anybody that I work with if I hadn't seen it for myself!

Friday, June 5, 2009

So last night, Josh and I and 2 of his friends took a drive up to Park City. Before heading up there, we ate at a pizza place that I will never eat at again!! I got sick not 20 minutes after eating the food. Josh had ordered a baked ziti. It took them half an hour to tell him that they were out of ziti and ask if he would like the spaghetti and meatballs instead. Then when it came time to leave, they still hadn't brought out his food! So he goes towards the counter to tell them we'd just pay for the pizza I ate and forget about the spaghetti. They didn't even give him the chance to tell them he didn't want it anymore, they just boxed it up for him. Very frustrating........
So I was sick for the rest of the night in Park City. We went up there to see LaughingStock compete against a new troupe in Park City. So we are laughing and enjoying ourselves (as much as you can when all you wanna do is throw up) and all of a sudden the host of the evening was closing his eyes, pointing his microphone near the audience, and asking us to tell him to stop. Now I apparently wasn't paying attention to why they were doing this, but the microphone stopped at our group. I didn't think it was pointing at me, but they were saying "green shirt girl come up here". Now all who know me well---this was not exciting. Me? On stage? NO WAY JOSE! But they made me go up and it turns out I have to make SOUND EFFECTS for one guy doing a scene. Needless to say, I was shaking so hard from fright (plus why are the lights so bright?!) and didn't make good enough sound effects. Back when I look at it now, Jesse who was doing the scene, was very funny and even though I couldn't make great sound effects still made me laugh.
I just hope to never do that again!!!

DRIVE-IN

Last night, I went to a drive in movie in West Valley. I haven't been to a drive-in since I was a little kid. To my knowledge (and I could be wrong) this is the only drive-in that is still running in the state. It was fun! We saw Pixar's UP and Disney's EARTH. Both we good movies. My favorite characters in UP were Kevin the bird and Doug the dog. Everyone should see this movie, it pretty cool!

It was a fun way to spend a Friday night!

TWO LONG WEEKENDS

I am happy because of the 2 long weekends I get! Obviously everyone gets a long weekend to remember the vets and people that are still fighting for our country. My brother Jon joined, but hopefully he won't ever have to fight since he wants to be an interpreter.
So after Memorial Day, I go to work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Then I have Friday off for the youngest of our family, Caleb, to go to his high school graduation. Yep, my mom will not have to put another kid through a year of school. I bet she's happy.
Well, HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!

I saw this Star Trek movie, loved this Star Trek movie and I don't care what anyone thinks. I also love this pic because I love the TV show Heroes!

That's all folks. Last time I tried to publish a long post, my computer wigged out and I couldn't get what I wrote back. So this is short for now.

Debt Free

Josh and I are officially out of bad debt! Meaning we still have debt for my car and for Josh's school. But all credit cards are paid off and money that we still owed his parents, all gone! We couldn't be happier about it! Now we are looking forward to the future and what it can bring for us.
YAY!

WII FIT

YES! I finally got one......didn't expect to get one when I went in the store.
See Josh and I watch a little bit of a movie before we go to bed for the night. Wednesday night, we were watching like usual and the DVD started pausing and skipping, pausing and skipping, so Josh went and pulled it out of the player. He looked at it closely and saw that the two halves of the DVD were coming apart from each other. So I immediately throw it away and said, "I'll go buy a new one when I get off work tomorrow." (Thursdays I get off 2 hours earlier than Josh)
SO I go over to Best Buy since I had a $5 off coupon. So I went and found the movie right away and then just decided to take a quick look over at the Wii stuff and there they were! 2 Wii Fits sitting right there on the shelf! So I grab it, call Josh, beg him to let me get it for us, and bought it! I have been waiting FOREVER for one and it was worth the weight. It is a lot of fun and my abs are already feeling the exercise that I give them. This is gonna motivate me to work out more often. I just had to write about it because I was so excited.

Laundry blues

Why does paying for laundry cost so much? I remember while I was at college for a year that it was much cheaper! I mean, for a weeks worth of laundry for both Josh and I, we spent $8.25.............that is ridiculous!
I, now more than ever, want my own place where I can invest in my own washer/dryer.
HELP with these blues

sad day for the fam

Today, my mom and dad had to put our dog, Midnight, down. He hasn't been eating for quite a while now and he was just skin and bones. Yesterday, he had some seizures and then couldn't even move this morning. So my mom called the vet and explained what was going on and the vet said the best thing for him would to put him down. This dog has been suffering for way too long and it was time to end his pain. Midnight has been with us practically since he was born 15 years ago. He will be missed! He was such a fun dog to have. Love you Puppers!!

back to apartment life

Well, Josh's parents are back from England and we are back in our own little apartment. It was fun taking care of a big house for a week. For some reason I felt really domestic over there. I swear I did dishes and laundry more times in that week than I have to do at home in a week! (Of course I have to note that it was ME who did the domestic stuff-Josh didn't help much in that way). I even cooked a few different meals.

Now for those of you that know, I am allergic to cats. So I thought it was going to be so hard having to deal with Oliver in the house with me for a week. I only had to take a benadryl one day. So that was nice! But------Oliver bugged me in other ways. Down in the basement, he had plenty of water. That wasn't good enough for him. EVERYTIME I had to go into the bathroom (to do my business or even just to change out of my contacts), he would scare me half to death by jumping up on the sink to BEG me for FRESH water! GGRRRRRRR!!! LOL! I finally remembered that if I didn't want him doing that every time, I just had to get the water bottle and squirt the cat! It got to the point where I just had to point it at him and he'd run. Needless to say, I had fun when I got to squirt him. :)

house sitting

Josh's parents are in England at the moment. The company flew them over to go house hunting. They kinda need to find a place to move to next month. Haha. So until next Wednesday, we are watching the house (and the cat Oliver-he's a trouble maker). His mom left us a note about a few things that need taken care of and I had to laugh at the last part of the note. It says and I quote, "You may have a party here, if you don't burn down the house down, the neighbors don't call the cops and you clean up afterwards" LOL I love it.
It is kinda of weird though, just having the two of us in this big house. We will have Heather here with us over the weekend though when Josh and I don't have to work. The days we do have to work, Heather is over at her grandma's.
So who wants a party?! ;)

Keith Urban

Keith Urban-hottie Australian country artist. I can definetly say that I LOVE HIM! LOL. I just found out he is coming in concert here on Sept 9th. When I went to Apocalyptica for the second time, Josh told me that if Keith Urban comes to Utah again that he would consider coming with me. Well, I remember that coming out of his mouth and so............
Tickets go on sale this Saturday and I'm buying them!
I CAN NOT WAIT!! WOOT!

Laughing Stock

HAHA! This is Russ Peacock. He is part of an improv comedy show that Josh and I are SO ADDICTED to! This is the best live show. We go almost every Saturday. It's a very great way to enjoy the weekend. I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a Saturday (or Friday they do it then too) night from about 10 pm to almost midnight, laughing your guts out!

Shameless promotion here:

http://www.laughingstock.us/ for tickets and showtimes.

They also do shows at the Off Broadway Theater (where laughing stock is held) that are parodies of movies and such. They have a hilarious one going on for not too much longer called "My School Musical". I saw it and it was FUNNY!

Is it Spring yet?

I can't tell you how excited I am for Spring! I am so sick of the cold. I want to start wearing capris and not having to have a jacket!
That's about all. Not much else going on?

stress

I am having the hardest time at work right now. I am so stressed! I could hardly sleep last night and woke up WAY late. I had to rush to get ready. Josh and I stayed up talking for an hour and a half about my stress at work. I felt bad keeping him up, so in the middle of our conversation I told him he could go back to sleep. His reply "if you are up, then I will be up til you fall asleep" How sweet is that? My back has been sore for the past week about. I finally had to take some Nyquil to even fall asleep. I know this is all jumbled, but my brain is just not really working.
I guess that I am extremely lucky to have Josh in my life. He is such a comfort for me and I love him for trying to make my life better as much as he has the power to.
Josh, if you ever get around to reading this, I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH TO COUNT!!!!!!!

AWWWW!

I love my husband! We both work at the same place, but I have to go in at 8am and he comes in at 10am. So he'll take me and then go back home til his time to work. So I am my desk working and 10am comes along. In my head I think-Hey Josh just arrived-and that's it. The office door opens and Josh comes around the corner.............carrying some red tulips and a card and candy!

Now Josh has not been known to really surprise me like that, so the least I can see is that I was speechless. I think my exact words were............uh uh uh........ (I thanked him later with a huge hug and big kiss!)

But I am feeling so loved! It was an awesome surprise and I love him all the more for it! Can't wait for Valentines tomorrow!

so sad

Tonight after I posted my last blog entry, I went onto facebook. I was looking at updated statuses of my friends. Anyway, I came across my mother-in-laws. Her status is "I'm really going to England".
Yeah, quite awhile ago, Josh's dad-John-overheard something at work about them opening up a project in England. John works for Hewlitt Packard. Anyway, he made some comment about how interesting it would be or something to that affect and they looked at him and said that they could get him on it. So he goes home to his wife, Linda, and mentions what happened. He thought that she would be like-that's crazy, we can't move to England-but she was thrilled. Josh always tells me that she wishes she was born in the 1800's and this is kinda close to it for her. So they said they would be interested if it could be worked out. Well............they are moving to England for 3 years (I think).........
this sucks!

Woot woot!

Josh and I just went and got ourselves new phones! Josh's old phone has had a cracked screen for almost a year now and the battery wouldn't last more than two hours. So he's had to leave his phone at home and keep it plugged in. So if anyone wanted to get ahold of him, they'd have to catch him here at home. My phone was so old school, it didn't even have a camera!
Josh got a phone that's made of this hard metal. Now this is a good thing because he has not had the best luck with his phones. example: he left one phone on top of his car and drove away, went back and found pieces. Luckily he had found his SIM card, but later found that he had only saved his contacts to the phone and not to the card! This last phone was plugged in to charge one night, totally fine, and when we woke up in the morning-the screen was cracked. So he has a flip phone that should survive lots of things. My new phone has an awesome camera, so awesome that Josh says my digital camera is now obsolete! LOL! My new phone also has a music player. So I can customize ringtones for people from real songs!!
Needless to say, we are both pretty excited!

what a man!

Tonight my hubby tells me that instead of playing World of Warcraft at nights that I am home with him, he's gonna change. He's gonna do more things that he needs to do, like school work and cleaning and other things he has on his task list. He'll still have one night a week to do his Warcraft since one (sometimes more) night a week is our date night. He can also play when I'm sleeping. He gets up earlier than me on work days and I always sleep in on the weekends so he can play then also.
I love my husband for doing that for me! We've spent too much time fighting about this game and his "need" to play all the time.
YAY!! More time to spend with my man!!

WHY??

Yesterday, Josh and I had a date night. We went out to Texas Roadhouse (one of my favorite places to eat) and then decided to go look at phones @ T-Mobile. See, our contract is running out this month-----or so we thought.
We go into the T-Mobile store and have to wait. (they were extremely busy) When they finally get to us and ask how we can be helped, we tell them first thing that we need to know the date that our contract runs out. So the manager looks on his computer and says, "Looks like it ends on February 27th, 2010" WHAT?! He tells us that that contract is for Josh's number. Then he looks again and my number says the contract runs out on February 12th, 2009. So we are confused. We have ONE phone bill and TWO seperate contracts? How do you explain that? All because Josh had to get a new phone in the middle of the contract means they can tag another year onto it?
Needless to say, we have to figure something out and we have like 4 options that Josh has gone through his head. If i tried to explain it, you wouldn't understand it becuase I don't even understand what we are gonna do.....
I am so not happy with cell phone companies right now, always screwing me over :(

Welcome!!

Hi all! Well, welcome to my blog. I am going to try this and see how I can keep up with it. I don't guarantee posts every day or even weekly. I'm gonna first shoot for once a month at least! LOL!
