Memorial Day 2014

Yesterday was a good day. We started out the day at 10 am at the zoo with Josh's family. (Josh's parents have a grandparents annual pass so they get us all in free). Nana bought Aidan a hat:

We were able to watch a show with the elephants doing tricks. It was so cool, I especially loved when the baby elephant stood on his trunk and front feet with the back feet in the air!
Aidan was very brave and went down the slide by himself (at the new little splash pad they have there). This slide goes through a tunnel in a lighthouse structure. He would have stayed there all day if he could have. We ended the day at the zoo with lunch in the cafeteria with the family before they had to leave. We stayed a little bit later because Aidan wanted to go on the slide again. Josh took him down there while I stayed close to the cafeteria (I was so sore from walking around) with Lucas. Aidan went down the slide a total of 10 times this time. Josh was counting them and after 10, Aidan wanted to go 2 more! Josh somehow got him away though.
We then went around 5 pm to go visit my Grandpa Rigby's grave. I haven't been back there since the funeral and I just really wanted to go. I got a few nice pictures with me and the kids by the headstone:

We ended the day down in Orem at Noodles&Company where Aidan got a free bowl of mac and cheese because we had bought an adult entree.

Lucas 9 months/other updates

Lucas is 9 months! He has been learning a lot lately. In probably a month and a half, he has learned to go from army crawling to crawling on his hands and knees. He has also learned to pull himself up on things, although he is still pretty unsteady at times.
At his check up today, he weighed in at 24lbs and 10 ounces. Such a big boy! He is just shy of 30 inches long, probably about time to change him to another carseat. His legs stick out of the infant now.

In other news,  Aidan loves preschool!  Okay, since he doesn't like to talk to me about it, I can only assume :)
But he comes home with these nursery rhymes and doesn't take very long before he can say every word in them. (they have pictures for every word or two). I'm still kind of waiting for his vocabulary to pick up, but that might take quite some time.
We decided on a name for our daughter,  she will be Melody Paige. A lot of people have told me how appropriate it is for her to have a musical name:)

We're having a GIRL!!

This is to announce the arrival of baby GIRL August 20, 2014! We couldn't be more excited to finally get a girl in the family (now I won't be the only female in the house, YAY)
I can already tell from this that she is going to have the same nose as Lucas!

This picture looks like she is putting her fist in the air and saying "YES!"

She is going to be a cute kid just like her brothers! Josh and I always say to each other, "How in the world do we make cute kids?" LOL

She is a leg crosser! Lucas is like that too.

The hardest thing for me is going to be to decide on a name. I knew right away what I wanted to name my boys, but I can't find any name I like for a girl :(

Aidan's fall and scare (Friday March 21st)

Just had the scare of my life! I was upstairs doing laundry when I heard Aidan crying because he fell down the stairs. I run down and see blood gushing everywhere from his head! He was holding his magnetic tablet and the pen kind of went into his head. I ran him upstairs to grab my phone to call 911 and grabbed some tissue (I wasn't thinking too clearly) to put on his head. It was soaked with blood within 20 seconds. Called 911, then called Josh (he couldn't hear a word I said except "911 and Aidan fell" so he ran home) the paramedics and firefighters and police come to the house. They check him out and they say he's acting fine (he's hysterically crying and so am I.)
It stopped bleeding and they said he was acting fine, but they told us to call the pediatrician to see if they wanted to see him.
Our bishop was driving by our house when the paramedics were here at the same time Josh got here. (He said he never drives by this way that time of the day...I like to believe that the Lord had a hand in that)
Aidan got this bear and a firefighter sticker badge.
Now he still has a bump, but I don't think he remembers what happened at all. He does still hurt a little when you put on or take off a shirt.

Preschool

Aidan got into preschool because of his speech delay (not saying as much as he should and not being able to be understood). Today was his first day there. I got to take him there and pick him up. He will start taking the bus on Wednesday. I knew that it would be difficult leaving him there because I knew that he would cry and scream. So I was expecting that when I got it. What I didn't expect was that I would start crying as I drove away! I totally didn't think of how it would affect me. I don't think it's just because I'm pregnant either..... I think I was just sad that my first son is growing up! This is the backpack that we got him...

Lucas Milestone

Lucas has been able to roll front to back now since about Feb 9th.
He also, when on his stomach, will go up on his hands and lift his knees off the ground. He hasn't got his knees to go up under him, but it's just a matter of time.
love my boys!

Lucas 6 months

Lucas is now 6 months old! Here are his stats:
Weight: 22 pounds 10 ounces 99%
Length: 28 inches 90%
Head: 44.2 cm 50%

We also found out in December (and just told everyone this past Sunday) that we are again pregnant with our third child! It's kind of scary to think about, but my mom did it with Angie and I so I know that I can do it.
